Guadalupe Mountains National Park

Guadalupe Mountains National Park Texas

This park is more hiking focused than tourist focused. There were some people on the trails, but you really feel like you are out in nature in the park. There are not entrance stations like many national parks; you just go to the parking lot, get out, and hike!

It was quite windy, but sunny in late December. It felt very rugged and remote, and the views of the mountains on the hikes were amazing. On our road trip, we stayed in Carlsbad, New Mexico prior to visiting the park and El Paso, Texas after the park.

We did not explore this El Paso much, but it is worth mentioning as we stayed at the Autograph Paso Del Norte and had a fabulous evening. The rooftop bar had beautiful views of the city. The restaurant and hotel were excellent.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park is right next to Guadalupe Mountains National Park so they can easily be paired together for a great trip.
