Biscayne National Park

Biscayne National Park Florida

View from Boca Chita Key Lighthouse

Biscayne National Park is amazing! You really have to get out on the water to experience the park. The water is pretty blue green and so clear. It is also much more shallow than we expected. We took the Heritage of Biscayne Cruise out of Homestead.

We stopped at Boca Chita Key and were able to explore on our own for a bit. There were a lot of other people with private boats enjoying the beautiful park, but it did not feel crowded. We got amazing views from the top of the lighthouse.

A pod of dolphins followed the boat for a while which was really neat, and we saw huge iguanas too.

We stayed in Homestead to visit the park and also visited Everglades National Park. Later in our trip, we visited Dry Tortugas National Park.
