Upstate New York - Wineries and Waterfalls

We visited this area on a vorking (vacation and work) road trip going to and from Acadia National Park. It is a wonderful area to visit! Here are our highlights.

Finger Lakes – The Finger Lakes region of New York is an amazing destination. There are so many waterfalls and wineries. Buttermilk Falls was a beautiful, easily accessible waterfall. We stayed in Ithica at the Marriott. It is in the walkable downtown area called the Commons. The restaurant on site, Monks, was delicious for breakfast and dinner. Ithica Ale House was another good dinner. To tour the wineries, we hired a driver for a private tour and went to six wineries. Our favorites were Lucas Vineyards, Thirsty Owl Winery, and Swedish Hill Winery.

Letchworth State Park – What an amazing park! There are three falls with so many beautiful viewpoints. Some of the viewpoints have a fair amount of stairs to climb, but it is so worth it to see the gorgeous falls. This park was our favorite park in the area with the best waterfalls.

Chittenago Falls State Park – This was a short stop for us. However, it was a pretty waterfall and worth the stop. The waterfall was easy to access and was impressive even in July.
